Dadi Janki is the chief of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, an international non-governmental organization headquartered in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, India. While she holds the title of administrative head of an organization of almost one million members in 120 countries, her primary focus is on bringing spiritual wisdom to the world. Early in her life, she spent fourteen years in a small spiritual community, using her own life as a laboratory to explore spiritual concepts.

Dadi Janki is a person of God and has been since childhood. Her relationship with God is her most important relationship. She speaks about God as if He is in the next room. He is her father, her mother, her teacher, her guide, and her companion. She takes no credit for her remarkable intellect, but insists she is simply sharing what she has learned from God. Dadi Janki finds love to be the foundation of greatness.

“Real love doesn’t deceive nor does it allow itself to be deceived. Where there is selfishness, there is no love. We need to understand what real love is. When there is the experience of God’s love, that removes all sorrow. Human love today is often connected with attachment. Someone gives a little love, and the other becomes crazy about them. I don’t want love that is going to give me happiness only sometimes. True love gives peace and happiness and makes the heart feel constantly full. So we need to ask our hearts, ‘Do I experience true and honest love? Do I have that type of love within?’ With true love there won’t be any wrong actions performed, because the intellect that is filled with love guides the soul in the direction of truth.

“We must remember who we are and then who we belong to. I am a soul, an eternal being of light, and I am a child of the Supreme Soul; I am a child of God. To remember my Supreme Parent, I need to go beyond sound into silence. The practice of staying beyond sound is absolutely essential. Silence is the language of the soul. In deep silence I turn my attention from me, the soul, to God, the being of light who is my eternal parent, and I become lost in remembrance. In this space of deep, silent remembrance, I forge a relationship, and I experience God’s love. This love from God evokes my own natural, loving nature. When this love fills my awareness, my attitude becomes benevolent, and when my attitude is benevolent, I naturally see with loving eyes. I see those around me not as ‘the other,’ but as a brother or sister, as one who belongs to me.”
